Beijing Olympic Games Results:

• CHOI Min Ho won the gold medal in the men's 60-kilogram division - CHOI Min-Ho of South Korea won gold in the men's -60 kg division of the judo at the Beijing Olympics on Saturday evening, August 09. The 2003 world champion, a bronze medallist in Athens, was in startling form throughout the day and defeated Austria's Ludwig Pinscher with a brilliant tellurium (leg-grab pick-up) for the maximum Nippon in the final.
• WANG Kai Chung won the silver medal in the men's 73-kilogram division - BEIJING (AFP) — Mammal, 20, stunned 19-year-old world champion Wang Kai Chung with a tellurium (leg grab) attack that scored Nippon, before the South Korean even had time to settle. It was sweet revenge for the Azerbaijani who lost to Wang in the World Championship final in Rio de Janeiro a year ago. "He won at the world championships and I won here. He's a powerful competitor, the same as the other medallists," said Mammal. Wang revealed he had injured a rib in an earlier contest but refused to make excuses for his defeat."I tried to forget about it but the fight ended so quickly that I can't say it had any effect on my performance," he added.
• KIM Kung Ok won the 5th place in the women's 52-kilogram division.
• KIM Jae Bum won the silver medal in the men's 81-kilogram division.
• JEONG Geyong Mi won the bronze medal in the women's 78-kilogram division. (English)

Celebrating the 60th anniversary of the Republic of Korea in Seoul on Aug. 15 - For his life time contributions in Martial Arts Sports, Dr. Kyung Ho "Ken" Min of Korea Judo Association in USA was selected, one of 40 people from the pool of 7 million Koreans living abroad, as an honorary committee member of the Republic of Korea's 60th anniversary celebration events. The current democratic Korean Government was established sixty years ago. Forty Koreans living abroad have been invited to attend the celebration for a period of 4 days before and after August 15 in Korea. The 9th Asian Junior Judo Championships 2008 were held on 4th and 5th July 2008 at Sanaa, Yemen:

• Day 2 - Korea won a Gold, a Silver, & 6 Bronze medals (7.05)
• Day 1 - Korea won a Gold, a Silver, & 3 Bronze medals (7.04)

The 2nd Asian Youth Judo Championships for Youth Boys and Girls wer held on 3rd July 2008 at Sanaa, Yemen.
